Hell
"Come now, let us reason together," saith the Lord of Hosts
"Though Heaven will beam with glorious light
That makes you white as snow,
Hell will bathe in crimson fire
without My afterglow."
That hellish lair, the torment of men
that fiery furnace that never grows dark
Unqueching its appetite for those who enter in
Formed for those with blackened hearts
First for Satan, and then for men
But shake, o' man, your fist on high
While you curse our God, His rule and His right
Your indignant anger quell not, nor hide
For it is forged in the fire of a rebellious mind
and stoked by the bellows of selfishness and pride
Then cry out to God how unjust! how unfair!
His ancient laws which judge and indict
Demand of God to remove this burdensome fare
While you turn to Hell to satisfy your delights
And freely it consents, if in time it can expropriate you there
For, Hell will not judge the depths of your dissipation
Hell will not judge your selfishness or greed
Hell will not judge your orientation, acclimation, appropriations, occupation, education,
qualifications, scientific annotations, birth nation, or your generation
Hell is agnostic and welcomes all with magnanimity
"Come in! Come in!" it says, into the borders of its ghastly eternal damnation
"Come now, let us reason together," saith the Lord of Hosts
"But ponder deep before you speak, Is Hell then what you want?
It advertises the freedoms you say you want the most
It judges not your transgressions, your actions, or intent
Hark! There is no second chance to choose once your eyes they dim and close. “
Perhaps your paradigm has been misaligned
and you've made a mistake along the way
And turned Hell into Heaven and wrong into right
and that Jesus is not the way.
And that God Himself is the reason for your woeful blight
Are you rebelling against God's just penalty for sin?
Are you angry that to Heaven all the world is not welcome in?
Has not a loving God let sin into this world in which we live
Would He cease to be loving if in Heaven He chose not to do it again?
Would He be loving if He did?
"Come now, let us reason together," saith the Lord again
"Would Heaven still be Heaven if it were full of sin?
What then would be the difference between now... and then?
Would you still want murderers and all that you abhor
and rapists and molesters lurking inside those Heavenly doors?
If Heaven is just like earth, then what in the hell is Heaven for?"
O' mortal Tantulus, all the wordly riches you possessed
Ixion and Sisyphus you murdered and cheated death
Your wickedness uncontrolled, you are the embodiment of humankind
Roll, in Hell, the uphill stone and spin the fiery wheel
In a watery pool, you will reach but not attain, for all eternity
O' mortal men, we've tread this road and come to our last dead end
Perhaps it's time for us to consider Almighty God once again
How vastly different the promises of God written in Spiritual ink
How vastly different the love of God that provides true hope again
For He is the Living Water, bubbling like a fountain, come and drink!
He is the Bread of life that satisfies the hunger of mortal man
Who saith in Him, you will never hunger and never thirst again
O Hell where is your victory, O death where is your sting?
It rests upon the mortal lives of those who refuse the King
Who wait for signs and wonders while deceit remains on their tongue
Who mistakingly believe punishment is weighed on the goodness of their deeds
Until at last they discover what the Lord has told them all along
That Hell is an embarrassment and the last sign they will get that they were wrong
