God in the Ghetto
As the snow flies, on a cold and gray Chicago mornin' A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
But the loving-kindness of Jehovah is from everlasting and to everlasting, upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children. Psalm 103:17
And his mama cries
My heart is in anguish within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Psalm 55:4
Cause if there's one thing that she don't need it's another hungry mouth to feed

People, don't you understand the child needs a helping hand

Take a look at you and me,
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Are we too blind to see,
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light Ephesians 5:8
Do we simply turn our heads and look the other way?
If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? James 2:15
Well the world turns
Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them. Ecclesiastes 9:11.
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose plays in the street as the cold wind blows

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them. Ecclesiastes 12:1
And his hunger burns
Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger, and he that believes on me shall never thirst at any time. John 6:35
So he starts to roam the streets at night
My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood let us ambush the innocent without reason. Proverbs 1:10-11
And he learns how to steal and he learns how to fight

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Then one night in desperation A young man breaks away
Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Listen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path: Proverbs 23:17-19
He buys a gun, steals a car, tries to run, but he don't get far
Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm. Proverbs 1:30-33
And his mama cries
As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand

These men lie in wait for their own blood; they ambush only themselves! Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it. Proverbs 1:18-19
As her young man dies,
The youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie with him in the dust. Job 20:11
